Hello, Ninth Month and a Goodreads Giveaway

Ninth Month of the Year of Our Lord 1753

Hanover County, Virginia

Amon Cayle couldn’t take another ounce of trouble. Why had he not spoken his mind when the board suggested hiring his brother as the schoolmaster? He knew it would cause problems for David. Problems the boy, and Amon, didn’t need. He slung Andrew’s note to the desk, then turned a hard glare on his fourteen year old son.

I don’t know about you, but I am ready for autumn. It has always been my favorite time of the year. Even now, I am relishing in the sun’s change of location in the sky and in the occasional breeze that signals the ending of summer as it chills my skin and tickles my nose. My only regret is that I live in a part of the country that doesn’t experience a plethora of browning, reddening leaves. For that, pictures will have to suffice.

Keeping Secrets opens in “the ninth month” as the Friends termed it. Not only is the earth dying, giving up summer and moving towards the death of winter, but the Cayles and McKechnies, and especially Amon and Mary, are entering a sort of browning and death in their own lives. This time of dying, as it is even for us sometimes, is necessary if they are to deal with old secrets and betrayals and move towards the springtime of healing and forgiveness they so desperately need.

In honor of the fact that Keeping Secrets begins in September, and my glee over the ending of summer (although I must admit this had been the mildest summer I’ve experienced in recent memory) I am hosting another Goodreads Giveaway for 2 autographed copies of the novel! You can enter beginning on August 31 at midnight, and it will run until September 7th at midnight.

If you haven’t left a review of Keeping Secrets its never too late to do so. Amazon is the best place, but Goodreads and/or Barnes and Noble are good places as well. You can even leave reviews in multiple places.

Just to remind everyone, paperback editions are available at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. E-book editions can be found at Amazon (Kindle), Barnes & Noble (Nook), Kobo, and Scribd. I am no longer on Kindle Select or in the Kindle Unlimited program, so you can’t borrow the books any longer.

A cover reveal, followed by a trailer, will be coming out shortly for Breaking Promises.

Until then, many blessings!
